Damian Lewis starts filming Our Kind of Traitor, which also stars Naomie Harris

The Ipcress Copy: Damian Lewis is spitting image of Michael Caine's iconic character Harry Palmer as he films Our Kind of Traitor

Imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery – and hopefully Michael Caine’s aware of that.
Damian Lewis, 43, has been spotted filming for his new role in Our Kind of Traitor on the banks of the Thames river looking like Michael’s character Harry Palmer from hit 1960s movie The Ipcress File.
Wearing a beige Aquascutum overcoat and thick-rimmed glasses Damian’s character, a member of British intelligence, looks like the spitting image of Harry Palmer - a British army sergeant forcibly drafted into the security services to work away a prison sentence.

Damian was filming scenes on the banks of the river Thames in London, wearing a beige overcoat, a plaid scarf and smart trousers.
His trademark red locks were swept to one side and he prowled along the shore taking a phone call for most of the scene.
The former Homeland actor drew in quite a crowd of fans as he filmed in the capital city; the droves of fans lined up to watch the 43-year-old.

The hype surrounding the movie, which is doesn’t have a current release date, is building as more and more celebrity names are announced as being involved in the release.
Damian will join Ewan McGregor and Naomie Harris in the big-screen adaptation of the John le Carre novel – to play a member of British intelligence.
Ralph Fiennes was originally cast in the hotly-anticipated thriller, but he dropped out and was replaced by The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo actor Stellan SkarsgÄrd.

Naomie Harris was every bit the Bond girl on Tuesday, as she stepped out to support an exhibition of the largest collection of 007 memorabilia.
Housed at the London Film Museum, the actress – who plays Moneypenny in the spy series – wore a crisp white skirt with a matching jacket featuring a plunging neckline.
Naomie, 37, matched the black button on her blazer to her strappy sandals and clutch bag as she joined former Bond girls Maryam d'Abo and Caterina Murino for the unveiling.

Harris also added a pair of Noor Fares geometric octahedron earrings and a geometric rhombus ring, all in white diamonds.
Naomie made her first appearance in the James Bond franchise in Skyfall, with Daniel Craig as 007; as did Caterina but in Casino Royale.
Maryam starred opposite Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights back in 1987 as Kara Milovy, a Czechoslovakian cellist and sniper who falls for James Bond.
Michael G. Wilson, writer and producer of many of the Bond films, was also in attendance with his half-sibling and fellow 007 producer Barbara Broccoli.

British race car driver Darren Turner was another guest, who no doubt enjoyed taking a look at the various motors that have featured in the Bond movies over the years.
BGT judge and comedian David Walliams was also there to check out memorabilia including the classic Aston Martin that has appeared in Bond movies from Goldfinger to Skyfall.
It turns out the vintage car was Walliams favourite vehicle as he tweeted a picture of the car afterwards, writing: ‘The Bond in Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum is a treasure trove for all Bond fans.’

But while the cars on display are there for Bond lovers to look at, in Miami, hardcore fans could drive their own vehicle home.
$33 million worth of James Bond cars are up for sale by real estate developer Michael Dezer, whose collection are housed at the Dezer Auto Collection at the Miami Auto Museum.
Bond in Motion opens at the London Film Museum, WC2 (londonfilmmuseum.com) on March 21 and will run throughout 2014

Nelson Mandela?s story is an inspiring one from his humble beginnings to his eventual inauguration as the first president of South Africa to ever be elected democratically. His youth and young adulthood were taken up with the struggle against South Africa?s apartheid government. His commitment to freedom for all South Africans landed him in prison, where he spent 27 years. This time of anguish was difficult for him and for the struggle he and others were attempting to keep alive. Naomie spies new secret service role: Ms Harris picks Ms Perkins over Miss Moneypenny

Naomie spies new secret service role: Ms Harris picks Ms Perkins over Miss Moneypenny

Embroiled: Naomie is in final negotiations to star in the film version of Our Kind Of Traitor
Embroiled: Naomie is in final negotiations to star in the film version of Our Kind Of Traitor
Naomie Harris is getting back in the spy game — but this time she’s playing a Ms Perkins rather than Miss Moneypenny.
The actress, who took over the role of Moneypenny in the last 007 screen adventure, Skyfall, is in final negotiations to star opposite Ewan McGregor in the film version of John le Carre’s cracking novel Our Kind Of Traitor.
Director Susanna White has begun shooting non-acting scenes in a Finnish forest near the Arctic Circle, which is standing in for woodland near Moscow.
Our Kind Of Traitor concerns Perry Makepeace, an Oxford English Literature don, and Gail Perkins, his barrister wife (certain things in the movie are different from the novel, where she’s his girlfriend), who become drawn to another don — of the Russian Mafia kind — during a tennis match.
The Russian, Dima to his friends, is a big-time money launderer with knowledge of terrorist activities.
And Dima wants Perry and Gail to help him and his extended family defect to the UK.
The British intelligence services get involved and so do Dima’s many enemies. Soon, Perry and Gail don’t know who to trust.
A few months ago, Le Carre’s son Simon Cornwell — who is producing the film with his brother Stephen, long-time le Carre collaborator Gail Egan and Studio Canal — told me that the Gail role was being ‘built up in a more and more interesting way’ for the movie.
I bumped into Naomie at producer Charles Finch’s pre-Oscar dinner at Madeo in Beverly Hills, and she told me that post-Oscars, she was heading to a spa in England to get her body in shape. ‘I want to detox and get fit.’
She added, with an air of mystery, that there was a film role being discussed but revealed nothing else . . . Our Kind Of Traitor is that mystery movie.
Stellan Skarsgard has been cast as Dima the shady oligarch.
Homeland star Damian Lewis will play Hector, a British intelligence officer, while Mark Gatiss, a force in front of and behind the camera on the BBC’s Sherlock, will play his colleague Luke.
Hossein Amini has adapted le Carre’s novel, shifting round the tome’s locations.
In the book the main characters play tennis at a beach resort in Antigua, but for the picture this has been switched to Marrakech.
Spy siren: Naomie Harris starred in Skyfall as Eve/Miss Moneypenny against Daniel Craig as James Bond

Other scenes will be filmed in London, Paris, and the French Alps.
Amini is red-hot at the moment thanks to his forthcoming gem of a film, The Two Faces Of January, which he has directed and written from a story by Patricia Highsmith.
That picture opens in the UK on May 16 and features Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Oscar Isaac, the latter giving a knock-out performance following on from his career-defining portrait of a folk singer in Inside Llewyn Davis.
Principal filming on Our Kind Of Traitor begins on March 26.
Then Naomie is due to join the next James Bond picture when director Sam Mendes gets cameras rolling in November.

Harris: I want Moneypenny in action

Harris: I want Moneypenny in action

      />
Naomie Harris stars as Miss Moneypenny in the Bond films

Naomie Harris has promised she won't let Miss Moneypenny be left stuck behind a desk in the new James Bond film. The actress made her debut as a Bond girl in Skyfall in 2012, where she was seen working alongside Daniel Craig's Bond as field agent Eve. At the end of the film it was revealed her name was Moneypenny and she retired from field work to become M's secretary, as Miss Moneypenny has traditionally been seen in many of the 007 movies.

But Naomie said: "I definitely think she needs to be in the action, in the midst of things.
"I'm all about empowered women so I really hope so. I'll push for that for sure."
In the meantime the 37-year-old actress, who was most recently seen as Winnie Mandela in The Long Walk To Freedom, revealed she was about to go on her first skiing holiday in the French Alps.
She said: "I'm not working at the moment actually, I'm off skiing, so I'm on a nice break at the moment, I'm off to Chamonix. It'll be my first time [on the slopes]."
Naomie is also hoping Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom does well at the Baftas, and is backing U2 to win the Oscar for best song for their track Ordinary Love, which they composed for the film.
She said: "They are so lovely, they're so down to earth, we got to spend a lot of time with them and they're such lovely, lovely people and I really want them to win. And obviously I want us to win the Bafta as well."

Naomie did a sexy Esquire magazine shoot for the magazine’s January 2014 issue. In the issue she revealed how terrified she was about what the real Winnie Mandela would think of her movie portrayal:
'She loved it. I was over the moon — she was the one critic I was really scared of. But she’s seen it, she likes it, my job is done.'

While there aren’t many secondary school students who have starred in their own music video, there are even fewer who have shared the screen with a Hollywood film star.

Naomie can be seen singing along in the video.Naomie can be seen singing along in the video.
But students from The Vale School, which caters for young people with special educational needs and is based in Tottenham, have achived both - and the result has already had more than 1,000 hits on YouTube.
The youngsters, who range in age from 11 to 16, are the stars of Build It, featuring The Disfunkshunalz - otherwise known as deputy headteacher Tony Millard, music teacher Richard Tharp and Johanne James, a teacher with Haringey Music Service.
But Mr Millard - who also wrote the song - is keen to point out they are simply the platform from which the kids can showcase their talent.
“We want them to be appreciated as performers in their own rights,” he said. “What we are hoping is that the video shows it is all about them.
“This is not about us playing and them joining in, but it is about us joining in with them.”
But they aren’t the only people to appear in the music video: there is also a cameo appearance by Naomie Harris, who is not only the latest Miss Moneypenny in the latest James Bond blockbuster, but has also recently graced the screens as Nelson Mandela’s wife Winnie in Long Walk to Freedom.
And her appearance is thanks to the “Muswell Hill community”, of which Ms Harris’ family are part, according to Bonafide Studio’s Deanna Bogdanovic.
Mrs Bogdanoiv, who opened up her St James’s Lane studio to the kids, said: “So many people got involved. Established musicians gave their time for free. “It is almost 90 per cent down to the community her in Muswell Hill - and it was a blessing to be involved.”
