Film bosses bring Rome to a standstill as stunt-doubles shoot car-chase scenes with 007's Aston Martin for Bond movie Spectre

It's as famous for its flash cars as it if for its action scenes.
So James Bond fans will delighted to learn that its impressive auto-mobiles were seen getting a serious spin on the set of the franchise's latest film, this week.
Two vehicles - including Bond's Aston Martin - brought the Italian city of Rome to a standstill on Friday morning as filming continued to gather pace on Spectre.Film bosses bring Rome to a standstill as stunt-doubles shoot car-chase scenes with 007's Aston Martin for Bond movie Spectre

Film-makers shut part of Rome's historic city centre to create an iconic car chase scenes for the upcoming release.
Fans looked on as stunt doubles raced 007's Aston Martin DB10 and the villain's Jaguar CX75 through the beautiful city in the early hours.
Camera crews shot the super cars cruising along under street lamps before drivers performed handbrake turns into narrow Italian side-streets.

Locals who watched in awe said the filming went on until dawn and the air was filled with the smell of burning rubber.
Many held their breath as the supercars rode up and down the vertical sides of the streets, narrowly avoiding an outing into the local buildings.
Countless crew members were seen supervising in high-visibility jackets, but - unfortunately - the film's leading man, Daniel Craig, was not present.

Unfortunately one of the cars will ultimately end up in the Tiber, according to leaks by the production company, although that part of the scene has not been shot yet.
But that isn't the only drama that has surrounded the eagerly-anticipated action film.
Only recently a car chase scene around the city’s baroque fountains were scrapped after protests by the city's cultural heritage officials.

Daniel Craig was spotted taking the supercar out for a spin around Rome on Friday while recording scenes for the highly-anticipated Spectre.
However, while shots of the vehicle’s exterior have been released, insiders are keeping incredibly tight-lipped with regards to specifics of the ultra-stylish Aston Martin DB10.

According to reports, the luxury manufacturer does not plan to put the vehicle up for sale until after it has been driven by Bond.
It is thought that the motor is a 'nod to future designs' and so Aston Martin insiders are keeping the machine as far away as possible from rival firms - who they fear may try to copy its sleek design.

Daniel Craig suffers another injury on set of Bond movie Spectre while filming high-speed car chase in Rome

Double OW seven: Daniel Craig suffers another injury on set of Bond movie Spectre while filming high-speed car chase in Rome

James Bond has encountered a villainous new adversary during filming of the next episode of the franchise in Rome – the city’s famous cobblestones and potholes.
Daniel Craig, who plays Bond in the forthcoming Spectre, was injured behind the wheel during a high-speed car chase through the streets of Rome - his second injury while filming the movie.
The secret agent’s state of the art silver Aston Martin DB10 hit a bump in the road on Monday, as it raced through the central streets, which had been closed off for filming.

For the high-octane scene the car used was a vehicle-steering dual being driven in reality by a stuntman.
Doctors were called after Craig hit his head on the car’s interior, La Repubblica reported, but the injury was not serious.
However Craig flew out of Rome the next day, leaving the stuntman to take care of the rest of the shoot.

Italian newspaper La Repubblica commented: ‘The streets of Rome have managed to accomplish what the secret agents on Her Majesty’s secret service never could - a knockout blow to 007.’
The 46-year-old wore a flat cap and shades but had no visible facial injuries. Craig reportedly suffered a knee injury just a week before while filming in Austria.
Producers of the film have run into numerous obstacles as they attempted to finalise plans for the five-week shoot in Italy.
Earlier this week the cobblestones were reported to have interfered with sound quality as crew filmed another car scene.
MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Daniel Craig for comment.

Meanwhile, the screen stars looked as stylish as ever during shooting on Thursday, with Daniel, 46, donning a white shirt and black tie under a full-length black coat, teamed with matching trousers, leather gloves and sunglasses.
Monica, 50, looked equally smart in a fitted black jacket with matching pencil skirt, while she accentuated her long, shapely legs with a pair of knee-high black suede boots.
But the crowning part of her ensemble was a small black hat, which she wore with partial veil over her stunning face, while her dark hair was tied back in a neat bun.
Among the anticipated movie's shooting locations include London, Mexico City; Rome; Tangier and Erfoud in Morocco, and Sölden, Obertilliach and Lake Altaussee in Austria.

It's been reported that Craig has been keeping his distance from work since he sustained a knee injury on the set last week, which is now supposedly holding up production on the film.
The latest Bond movie has so far had a bumpy ride but took another fateful turn on Tuesday when a crew member was seriously injured during filming.
The much-anticipated new movie has suffered another setback after a camera truck veered off the road and crashed into a barn, badly injuring at least one member of the crew.

News of the injury, which transpired to be fairly minor, led former Bond star Sir Roger Moore to offer to reprise the role of the secret agent.
Sir Roger - who starred as James Bond in the films between 1973 and 1985 - joked: 'Sorry to hear Daniel Craig has sprained his knee on set #Spectre. Being 007 is not without its hazards. I'm available to step in if needed. (sic)'
