Ahead of the film's release, critics were in uproar, noting the actress appears on screen for only a matter of minutes as she shared a steamy sexual encounter with Bond.
In the lead up to the film's release, Daniel Craig insisted that the spy would be kept on his toes by strong female leads, brought in to match 007 with their intelligence, style and sex appeal.
Likewise, Belluci - who appears alongside French actress Lea Seydoux in the spy flick - herself told The Sunday Times that the new film's treatment of women is 'in some way revolutionary'.
