Kate Beckinsale, Kerry Washington, and Naomie Harris lead glam parade on 2017 Independent Spirit Awards red carpet

Who needs The Oscars? Kate Beckinsale, Kerry Washington, and Naomie Harris lead glam parade on 2017 Independent Spirit Awards red carpet

It is the eve of The Oscars.
But Naomie Harris and Ruth Negga didn't save all the glitz and the glamour for Hollywood's biggest night.
The two gorgeous stars led the parade of A-listers on the red carpet of the 32nd Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Saturday.

The gala - which takes place in a seaside tent - is dedicated specifically to independent filmmakers to celebrate the year in cinema.
Naomie, 40, showed off her fantastic figure in a pink, blue, and purple patterned mini dress featuring a lacy black detailing at the hemline.
She showed off her mile-high long legs in the short number which she finished off with a pair of black and white heels and dangling earrings.
Her brunette tresses were worn down flowing over her shoulders as she let her natural looks show with minimal make-up.

Her curly locks were elegantly disheveled as her make-up was highlighted by blue eyeshadow and shiny pink lip.
One notable person missing in action was Natalie Portman, who is nominated for Best Actress for her work on Jackie, as will be unable to attend tonight's event as well as The Oscars.

'Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards,' the heavily pregnant star told the Hollywood Reporter
'I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.'
Despite the A-lister missing from the red carpet, no doubt it is shaping up to be an important night as the biggest award of the night - Best-Feature - is seen as a good predictor for who will take Best Picture home at the Academy Awards as the last three winners have done so.

However this may not happen this year as Oscar-favorite La La Land was too big a production to be considered an independent project with a $30 million budget.
The leading contender on this night is Berry Jenkins flick Moonlight and Andrea Arnold's American Honey as they are both up for six nods.
Moonlight has already came into the night a winner as the film was announced as the winner of the Robert Altman Award before the festivities.
No doubt the coming of age flick is hoping to recreate that success the following night as it is up for eight Oscars.
The Indpendent Spirit Awards airs at 5pm EST/ 2pm PST on IFC.
