Naomie Harris becomes our new Into Film ambassador

We're delighted to announce that actor Naomie Harris, star of James Bond films Spectre and Skyfall, as well as Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and more, is the latest to become an Into Film ambassador, joining Sir Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Redmayne, Michael Sheen, Matthew Rhys and Celyn Jones in lending her support to our work. We're thrilled to have her on board.
Speaking on her appointment, Naomie talked about how her experience at the inaugural Into Film Awards inspired her to come on board. The short films showcased explored a wide range of issues, including bullying, growing up, grief, the highs and lows of settling into new places, and making new friends. The 2nd annual Into Film Awards are set to take place in March 2016, and are now accepting short film submissions. Entries can be submitted by the filmmakers themselves or a teacher/parent can nominate via the entry form.
I'm thrilled to be an Ambassador for Into Film. I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of an organisation that uses film to inspire, educate and motivate young people. Into Film has the ability to help set those involved on a journey of discovery, edification, creativity, storytelling and more, which I hold dear to my heart

Our ambassadors support our work in a number of different ways, including visiting young people in schools, and taking part in Into Film events, such as the Into Film Awards and Into Film Festival. Into Film CEO Paul Reeve was equally delighted with Naomie's appointment, saying "she shares our passion for film and belief in its ability to educate and inspire."
Ahead of the announcement, Naomie invited nine Into Film members aged 15-19 to visit the set of Spectre at Pinewood Studios, and to interview her about her experiences working in the film industry, and being such an integral part of the James Bond franchise. Check out the video here
Here's what Naomie had to say about meeting our members.
As part of my role as an Into Film Ambassador I was delighted to be able to invite some young people to the set of Spectre at Pinewood Studios, so they could see first hand a live film set at the heart of the British filmmaking industry, and give them an insight into the many different roles that go in to making a film. Their excitement and enthusiasm was a joy to be around, and I hope the visit has inspired them to follow their own dreams - and perhaps I've met some of the filmmakers of tomorrow
