- Sony also offered $18million for similar deal to use its Android smartphone
- But Craig and director Sam Mendes did not feel phones were good enough
- Leaked e-mail: They don't like Sony phone for the film. It is not the 'best'
Daniel Craig rejected a $50million deal that would have seen 007 using a Samsung mobile phone in new film Spectre because it was not deemed good enough for James Bond.
The South Korean company had tabled the offer to be the exclusive vendor for the latest installment of the franchise and for Bond to carry its Android phone in the movie.
Sony had offered $18million for a similar deal to use its phone.

Samsung and Sony had tabled multi-million-pound deals to be the exclusive vendors for the latest installment of the franchise and for Bond to use their Android phones (pictured left and right respectively) in the new film
But both offers were turned down by Craig and director Sam Mendes because they felt neither phone was up to the task for Britain's top secret agent, it was reported by Apple Insider.
In a leaked e-mail, Andrew Gumpert, the president of worldwide affairs for Columbia Pictures, said: 'Sam and Daniel don't like the Sony phone for the film.
'In their minds, the Sony phone is not the "best".'
The decision had also appeared to have been influenced by the public backlash to the €45million Heineken product placement deal in the last film Skyfall.
Spectre has already made history after breaking existing UK box office records just days after its release.
The 24th film in the franchise, which stars Craig in his fourth outing as 007, banked over £41 million in the UK in its first seven days of release, eclipsing Skyfall's £20.1 million opening in 2012.
It broke UK box office records by taking £6.3 million on its opening day, beating its predecessor's £6.2 million opening day three years ago.

Spectre, which opened in 647 cinemas and on 2,500 screens around the UK on October 26, also beat the current record holder – Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban – which enjoyed a £23.8 million opening in 2004.
The movie has grossed over £51 million from its openings in the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, ahead of its launch in the US on Friday.
It is now on course to take over the mantle from Skyfall as the UK's highest-grossing movie of all time.
However, while Spectre may have smashed box office records, its average ticket sales per screen in the UK fails to live up to Skyfall with £17,000 as compared to its predecessor's £34,000.
The film's producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, said: 'We're so grateful to all our James Bond fans and the British public for making Spectre's debut in the UK box office history!'
Success story: (L-R) Christoph Waltz, Sam Smith, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Daniel Craig and Dave Bautista at the Spectre premiere in Mexico on Sunday night
Gary Barber, MGM chairman and chief executive, added: 'What an incredible thrill it is for us at MGM to see how James Bond continues to deliver such excitement to his fans.
'This record-breaking support from UK audiences for what is our 24th outing is nothing short of amazing.'
Directed by Skyfall film-maker Sam Mendes, Spectre – which also stars Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Andrew Scott, Dave Bautista and Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci as Bond girls – sees Craig's MI6 agent alter-ego confront enemies of his past.
Jurassic World remains the movie to overtake for the title of UK's biggest film of 2015, bringing in £63.7 million.
However, both are likely to face competition from Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it opens on December 17.
