She wore one of the stand out dresses at the Golden Globes. 

But Naomie Harris has revealed that whilst her custom Armani Privé gown may have looked sensational, it was far from practical, as she could not move in it. 

Speaking on Tuesday's episode of Lorraine, the 40-year-old actress revealed: 'I was very glad to get out of it! It was like a corset, I could barely breathe!'

Despite being nominated for Best Supporting Actress on the night for her role in Moonlight, Naomie couldn't even toast her success as the gown stopped her consuming anything. 

'I wasn’t allowed to eat or drink form 12 o'clock as I couldn’t go to the toilet in that dress!' she revealed. 

And the journey there wasn't even smooth as she confessed: 'I got carried to the car by the man who made that dress and he lay me flat so I wouldn’t crease the dress!'

Whilst Naomie scored some style points with her ensemble, she lost out to Viola Davis in Fences for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, Musical or Comedy.

However, she is still the centre of much Oscar buzz ahead of the nominations announcement on Tuesday.

Speaking about her decision to take the role as a drug addict in Moonlight, she revealed: 'I just want to play completely different roles and tell stories that see each other in a different light and the word in a different light'.

She continued: 'It's amazing seeing people who have been genuinely touched.'

She did take some issue with the casting, however, as she quipped: 'It’s so strange, I don’t see how they saw me and thought "crack addiction". I’m health nut, I don’t even drink coffee!'

Naomie - who plays Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond series - also spoke about the pressure of shooting the film in the three day break she had from her Spectre press tour.

'I came from the glamour and glitz of Bond and then... this is the smallest budget movie I’ve ever done,' she revealed.

Despite enjoying a taste of working on a $5 million budget film, Naomie revealed that she still wants to continue her role in Bond.

She is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Moonlight- which she played in just three days.

And Naomie Harris showcased her sensational figure as she hit the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards in LA on Sunday.

The 40-year-old British actress posed up a storm in the figure-hugging gown.

The Bond star made the most of her slender midriff in the slinky metallic  piece, which was embellished with delicate embroidery.

Flashing a hint of cleavage in the plunging piece, it framed her endless legs perfectly.

And wearing her hair in a side parting with tousled waves, she flashed her diamond drop earrings as the natural beauty posed for pictures.

Moonlight has received a jaw-dropping six nominations, including Best Drama Motion Picture, Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Mahershala Ali), Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Naomie), Best Director and Best Screenplay of A Motion Picture (Barry Jenkins), and Best Original Score (Nicholas Britell).

Naomie Harris had just three days to play what has turned out to be the role of her career: Paula, a drug-fuelled, single mother struggling to raise her son Chiron in a rough neighbourhood of Miami in Moonlight. 

For Naomie, who neither drinks nor smokes, that meant resorting to YouTube. ‘It’s an important aid for an actor,’ she told MailOnline. ‘I watched videos of people addicted to drugs.’

There was no time to work with the other actors when she arrived on set.

‘I got there and the cameras started rolling. Over the course of three days I aged 15 years. It was a combination of make-up, wigs and a change in physicality,’ she says.

‘We had to cram in so much that I probably felt 15 years older!’

He was tipped to get a Best Actor nomination for his Nelson Mandela biopic, however Idris Elba missed out on a nod from BAFTA on Wednesday.

The Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom star appeared to have been ignored, and instead Christian Bale, Bruce Dern, Leonardo DiCaprio, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tom Hanks will battle it out for the gong.

While other British talent including Dame Judi Dench and Chiwetel were recognised, the 41-year-old did not cut it despite rave reviews and his double Golden Globe nomination.

The Luther actor - for which he is also nominated in the US -won over audiences in the film about the late South African president based on his bestselling autobiography.

On release, Idris was praised for his accent and moving portrayal of the politician, from his childhood in a tiny, rural village, to his inauguration.

Fans of the star took to Twitter to share their disappointment, with one suggesting he had been 'robbed'.

One wrote: 'Stunned that Idris Elba didn't get a Best Actor BAFTA nom, but it's all irrelevant as Chiwetel Ejiofor's already won it.'

While another added: 'Can't believe Idris Elba hasn't been nominated for a Bafta.. Gutted, it's such a good film'.

There was no sign of animosity from Idris however, who tweeted to say: 'Congrats to @Oprah and Chiwetel @LupitaNyongo M.fassbender on their @BAFTA nominations. GREAT PERFORMANCE'S Well deserved my friends.'

Speaking about the Golden Globes, he told E!'s Chelsea Lately this week: 'The problem is there's two tables to sit on: there's a Mandela table and there's a Luther table. So, since I already won at the Luther table, I was going to sit at the Mandela table. But if I don't win that, I'm gonna run back.'

Adding: 'I've got to think about a speech, because you play someone like Nelson Mandela, you have to say something really important if you win.'

He isn't the only Mandela star to miss out, as his costar Naomie Harris also failed to score a nod, although the movie has been nominated for Outstanding British Film.

Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave continued its award season success by picking up 10 nominations from BAFTA.

The movie, which is heavily tipped for the Oscars, picked up nominations for McQueen and three of its stars and is in the running to be named best film.

Chiwetel, who plays a free man kidnapped and sold into slavery in America's deep south, is nominated while co-stars Lupita Nyong'o and Michael Fassbender are nominated for supporting actress and actor respectively.

He said: 'I continue to be immensely proud of the recognition this film is getting around the world. There is, of course, something particularly special about receiving a Bafta nomination from home.'

Bookmakers immediately installed him as favourite to win his category with odds of 1-4 and made 12 Years A Slave favourite to be named best film.
