While US Speaker Monica is still best known for her exposed relationship with President Clinton, she's only recently emerged from relative obscurity.
A former White House intern in the Nineties, Monica has come out of the shadows after around a decade to shed light on issues such as bullying, public shaming and sexual scapegoating, to the likes of what she previously experienced.
It was her recent Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity speech that earned her a standing ovation as she spoke to the creative elite about 'public shaming as a blood sport'.
Monica's brave move saw her confess on stage: 'At the age of 22, I fell in love with my boss,' before adding, 'And at the age of 24, I learned the devastating consequences.
'So as far as our culture of humiliation goes, what we need is a cultural revolution. We need to return to a long-held value of compassion, compassion and empathy.
She continued: 'Today we call it cyberbullying and online harassment. Online, technologically enhanced shaming is amplified, uncontained and permanently accessible.
'Public shaming as a blood sport must stop. It’s time for an intervention on the internet and in the culture.'
