Black Bond girls united: Naomie Harris and Halle Berry join tribute to African-American actresses who starred in 007 films
Playing a Bond girl in the James Bond movies is often a career-defining role.
So it was with great delight that iconic former 007 stars Trina Parks and Gloria Hendry could accompany current Bond star Naomie Harris, and Die Another Day actress Halle Berry at a special event held in their honour.
Ahead of Friday's US release of the new flick Spectre, the African American Film Critics Association hosted a tribute honoring Trina, 68, and Gloria, 66, in Hollywood on Tuesday.

The gorgeous stars were joined by Naomie, 39, and Halle, 49, at the special event, generations of Bond girls joining together as one.
When Halle was cast as Jinx in 2002's Die Another Day opposite Pierce Brosnan, she was the first black Bond girl for 17 years, while Naomie has reinvented the role of Miss Moneypenny in the most recent two films, 2012's Skyfall and Spectre.
In Die Another Day, she famously recreated Ursula Andress's iconic scene from the first Bond film Dr. No, emerging from the ocean in a bikini and with a knife.

Defining moment: Although Trina didn't portray a romantic partner to Connery's 007 in the seventh Bond film, she was a feisty and frightening nemesis
But the way was paved for her by the likes of her predecessors, who looked glamorous at the special event hosted in their honour.
Trina was the first African-American actress cast as a Bond girl, starring as Thumper in Diamonds Are Forever opposite Sean Connery in 1971.
She rose to fame in one of the first Bond films, holding her own in that all-important bikini moment for her meeting with the leading man.
Trina didn't play a romantic partner to Connery's Bond, in the seventh film of the franchise, but was a fantastic and feisty nemesis.

And Gloria made history as the first black Bond girl to be romantically involved with the British secret agent, who was played by Roger Moore in 1973's Live And Let Die.
The beauty looked incredible in her two-piece as she graced the scene as the gun-toting Rosie Carver.
Both actresses made for glamorous additions to the evening, each of them clad in their finest red carpet gear as they showed their younger counterparts how it's done.

Trina oozed old-school elegance in a floor-sweeping black gown, teamed with a glamorous furry stole over her shoulder.
Gloria, meanwhile, went for a curve-enhancing golden gown with a seductive slit down the front, proving that despite her age, she's still got sex appeal in buckets, much like her past Bond girl character.
Naomie - who has played head of the British Secret Service M's secretary Eve Moneypenny is the most recent two Bond movies - has been busy travelling the globe to promote the latest 007 action-packed installment.

She stars alongside Daniel Craig in the Sam Mendes film, acting as a sidekick to the spy as she helps him to unravel the happenings of organisation SPECTRE.
Naomie has previously admitted that she is thrilled to be the first black actress to portray the secretary, who has been brought to life on screen in the other films by the likes of Samantha Bond, Lois Maxwell and Caroline Bliss.
In a recent interview with MORE magazine, she said: 'I love that I’m representing a Bond woman to admire, not just t**s and a**.'
At the one-off event on Tuesday, the beautiful star wore a long-sleeved red mini dress with embellished flower patterns and laughed as she posed for photos with Halle.

The Oscar-winner, who filed for divorce from husband Olivier Martinez a week ago, stepped out in a duck egg blue halter-necked asymmetrical frock.
It was her first red carpet appearance since news broke of her marriage split and she put on a brave face as she faced the cameras.
Despite the all the ongoing drama, Halle still managed to dazzle at Tuesday night's event held at the California African American Museum.
