Bond gets biblical: Spectre production films night time scenes along the Tiber River and against the beautiful backdrop of Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica

Bond gets biblical: Spectre production films night time scenes along the Tiber River and against the beautiful backdrop of Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica

Over the last few days the James Bond production has been filming high-octane car chase scenes for new movie Spectre.
And though the focus has been on the array of fast cars, including 007's brand new Aston Martin DB10, the location is just as beautiful sight to behold.
On Monday night, the set moved to the Tiber River, offering a beautiful view of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

The Tiber is the third-longest river in Italy, and was the Ancient Rome's main watercourse for commerce, while St. Peter's Basilica is considered by Catholics as one of the most holiest place in the world.
The famous church was built in the late Renaissance style and is the main focal point in Vatican City. St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the two biggest churches in the world, was consecrated in 1626 and designed by Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno Donato Bramante, and Gian Bernini Lorenzo.
It seems that the Vatican is a big Bond fan as their newspaper often publishes stories about the spy movies and gave Skyfall a rave review.
L'Osservatore Romano, called the 23rd film from the franchise one of the best James Bond films made over the past 50 years.

But it wouldn't be a 007 flick without the cars and there were more than a few flash ones on set Monday night.
Bond's brand new Aston Martin was the focus of a dramatic night shoot in Rome, Italy, as director Sam Mendes' team shot a high speed car chase through the city streets.
There was no sign of Daniel Craig with the silver Aston Martin DB10, instead it was driven by a stunt driver who roared around the cobbled roads on the Via Panispern.

A Jaguar C-X75 with the number plate ROMA 860K was seen in hot pursuit of Bond's car, as the cameras rolled.
The distinctive Jaguar is thought to be the car belonging to a new Bond villain in the new film, henchman Mr Hinx who's played by Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista.
The two cars have been involved in a number of shoots in recent weeks, with Craig spotted driving the Aston Martin around Rome last month before flying home to London for a break in filming to celebrate his birthday.
While the lead star and director Sam Mendes are shooting at Pinewood Studios in the UK, a second unit has remained in Rome to continue filming the car chase scenes with the help of stunt drivers.
Parts of central Rome have been regularly closed off at night, with most of the filming taking place in the Vatican City area, with some dramatic scenes shot around the tourist hot spot of St. Peter’s Church.
Daniel is most likely pleased to have left the dangerous driving to his stunt double after an injury last month.

The 47-year-old was injured behind the wheel during a high-speed car chase in Rome- his second injury while filming the movie.
The secret agent’s state of the art Aston Martin hit a bump in the road, as it raced through the streets.

Doctors were called after Craig hit his head on the car’s interior, La Repubblica reported, but the injury was not serious.
It's the second accident for the actor on set, who also reportedly suffered a knee injury just a week before while filming in Austria.

While the actor has been left battered and bruised by the shoot, his Aston Martin remains in peak condition.
The DB10 is a model developed specifically for the film and built in-house by the car manufacturer's top design and engineering teams.
