Daniel Craig is back in James Bond mode as he flies down the Thames in a speed boat

Making a Spectre-cle! Daniel Craig is back in James Bond mode as he flies down the Thames in a speed boat

A first glimpse of filming for the 24th James Bond was never going to be without its action.
So when Daniel Craig was captured flying along London's River Thames on a speed boat, even he couldn't disguise his excitement.
Daniel, back in 007 mode, was joined by Rory Kinnear in character as MI6's Bill Tanner - though the men were more entertaining between takes when they pulled thrilled faces against the wind to make their way to the capital's famed Secret Service MI6 Headquarters.

Both men, suited and booted for their parts, didn't appear to be in action mode as they gripped tightly to the front of the boat with leather gloves.
But Daniel, 46, was exposing his inner thrill-seeker as he smiled widely while the speed boat passed through London's waterway at pace during the early morning hours of Monday.
It was just another Monday morning for the James Bond actor who reprises his British spy role for a fourth time this year, following up on the success of Skyfall, Quantum Of Solace and Casino Royale.

Daniel was later seen filming from a bridge over looking London's River Thames after the acting pair were escorted over by two drivers.
Filming of Spectre began last week after the film was announced on December 4 and revealed to include stars Monica Bellucci (Lucia Sciarra), Christoph Waltz (Oberhauser), and Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann).
The Skyfall follow up recently stumbled at the first block when original scripts were leaked and producers were forced to rewrite the plot line.

Originally, leading man Daniel said he thought the script for Spectre was 'better than we had last time,' he said at the press conference two weeks ago.
The 46-year-old actor said he expected the movie to be superior to the 2012 hit Skyfall, which made more than $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.
He said: 'We've got an amazing cast and, I think, a better script than we had last time.'

Speaking of the film's name, Sam explained at the conference, director Sam Mendes said: 'Those of you who have some knowledge of the Bond franchise and of the legend of Bond will probably have some idea what that refers to, but I couldn't possibly comment.'
Spectre - which stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion - is led by iconic evil genius Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Could these recent on-set pictures be the confirmation that James Bond finally gets up close and personal with Miss Moneypenny in new movie Spectre?

007 heartthrob Daniel Craig was seen staring out of a bedroom window while the secretary, portrayed by Naomie Harris, sauntered up the street during the London shoot on Monday.
The 46-year-old's suave character has already indulged in a great deal of flirting with his fellow secret service employee, however, up until now, it has never amounted to anything more.
However behind-the-scenes photos certainly show a lot of forlorn looks being cast by the actor, as he filmed in just a dressing gown while his co-star remained fully clothed.
The 28 Days Later stunner was dressed particularly chic for the scenes in a navy shift dress, vibrant blue coat and matching heels, but she failed to raise a smile as she walked out of shot solo.

Naomie's role first saw her get close to Bond during a steamy bathroom scene in the last movie Skyfall.
Yesterday Daniel appeared to be giving someone the V sign as he got to work on the 24th instalment.
The star waved merrily at onlookers as he cruised down the Thames on a speedboat.
However, an unlucky person got a different kind of greeting altogether when he raised his left hand and lifted his first two fingers in their direction.

It's unclear just who or what caused the reaction but it's almost certain the rude gesture won't be part of the spy film's screenplay.
Rory Kinnear, who stars as MI6 Chief of Staff Bill Tanner in the popular franchise, joined the star onboard the vessel on what was the second day of filming.
The pair were in high spirits as they were seen laughing as they sailed through the city.
Both were wrapped up in smart black coats with Daniel adding a scarf to his ensemble for extra warmth.
The crew began shooting in London this week, before moving on to hotter locations scheduled in Rome, Mexico City and Morroco.

Bond's favourite cocktail the vodka martini will return in Spectre

The vodka martini will return: Bond's favourite cocktail set to appear in Spectre after luxury brand announces partnership with film makers

  • Sony Pictures have signed multi-million pound deal with Belvedere Vodka
  • It means Vodka Martini – shaken, not stirred – will be back on 007's menu
  • Bond was last seen guzzling Heineken thanks to a £30m advertising deal
  • Companies to have signed up to feature in the film include Aston Martin, Bollinger, Jaguar Land Rover, Omega, Sony Electronics, and Sony Mobile
'I would like a medium Vodka dry Martini – with a slice of lemon peel. Shaken and not stirred please'
Since Sean Connery first uttered the immortal words in 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger, they have been synonymous with the world's suavest spy.
So when Daniel Craig was last seen sprawled on a bed, guzzling Heineken in 2012's Skyfall, as part of a rumoured £30million advertising deal, Bond purists were outraged. Bond - a lager lout?
Now, to the delight of fans everywhere, filmmakers Sony Pictures have signed a lucrative multi-million pound deal with Belvedere Vodka for new film, Spectre, to put Martini – shaken, not stirred – back on 007's menu.

Bond is no stranger to lucrative marketing deals.
In 2012 Sony, Coca-Cola, Bollinger, jewellery giant Swarovski, watch manufacturer Omega and fashion designer Tom Ford struck similar agreements.
This year, companies to have already signed up to feature in the film include Aston Martin, Bollinger, Heineken, Jaguar Land Rover, Omega, Sony Electronics, and Sony Mobile.
And Bond creator Ian Fleming was said to be a fan of filling his stories with brand names - and first released the perfect recipe for the Vodka Martini in novel  Dr No, published in 1958.
In it he orders a drink to exact orders: 'I would like a medium Vodka dry Martini – with a slice of lemon peel. Shaken and not stirred please. I would prefer Russian or Polish vodka.'

Belvedere will release two custom made, limited edition bottles to celebrate Bond's vodka martini. It has replaced the iconic Belvedere Palace with the famous MI6 headquarters on the bottles
Michael G. Wilson, the co-producer of the Bond films, has previously defended the deals.
‘What normally happens is the firms agree to provide the products free of charge along with the necessary technical support,’ he said.
‘If you look at the original Bond books by Ian Fleming, you realise that he mentions specific products in them.
The character knew he could find himself dead at any time and he wanted to enjoy the good things in life.
‘We try to make sure that we only include products that are in keeping with that idea.’
And Bond’s commercial tie-ins aren’t confined to the on-screen action.
In 2012, Eon, Skyfall’s production company, teamed with Procter & Gamble to launch a 007 fragrance for men.
OPI, the cosmetics giant, has a range of nail varnishes including The Spy Who Loved Me, while Hornby has based Scalextric sets on cars from Skyfall and Goldfinger.
Even tourism agency Visit Britain signed up, with Daniel Craig’s 007 selling the idea of a UK holiday, using the slogan ‘Live Like Bond’.

For now though, the return to 'classic Bond' appears to have pleased even the most hardcore of fans.
Ajay Chowdhury, president of the James Bond International Fan Club, told the Telegraph: 'In the novels, Bond drinks everything – beer, whisky – but the drink most associated with him is vodka martini, shaken not stirred. Everything else is gravy.'
Andrew Lycett, biographer of Ian Fleming, added: 'I think Bond aficionados like the sense of a classy drink, and somehow vodka has come through the field over the last 50 years.'

MARTINI MUST BE SHAKEN NOT STIRRED... BUT BOND ACTUALLY PREFERS BOURBON

He may be best known for his love of Vodka Martini, ordered to the most particular standards.
But according to research, Bond is actually a greater lover of whiskey.
He sinks 317 drinks in Fleming’s 14 books, Vanity Fair reports.
He racks up 101 of whiskeys, including 37 orders of straight bourbon.
He also quaffs sake, champagne, wine, and of course the Vesper.
Invented by the superspy, the Vesper includes 3 measures of gin, 1 measure of vodka, ½ measure of Kina Lillet, and a thin lemon slice.
He orders it just once, in Casino Royale.
